This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 24.07.2019 and to effect changes in the school records by correctly indicating the name of the father of the student as G.Chandrasekar instead of G.Raj.
2. The case of the petitioner is that her daughter was studying in the first respondent school and by mistake the name of the father of the petitioner was entered as G.Raj instead of G.Chandrasekar in the Mark sheet. This mistake had happened since he used to be called as 'G.Raj' in the family circle. Immediately, after the daughter of the petitioner completed her 12th standard, this mistake was noticed in the Mark Sheet and in the Transfer Certificate and therefore a representation was made to the respondents to carry out the correction since it will https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
have an impact while the student applies for higher studies. The first respondent on receipt of the representation has informed the petitioner that in the school records, the name of G.Raj has been entered and therefore, the corrections cannot be done in the Mark Sheet and in the Transfer Certificate.
3. The petitioner has approached the respondents with a very genuine claim and it is seen from the records placed before this Court that the correct name of the father of the student is G.Chandrasekar and it was wrongly entered as G.Raj in the school records. Once the documents are submitted to the respondents, the respondents must have effected the change and instead they are trying to evade their responsibility and as a result the petitioner has been forced to file this Writ Petition before this Court.
4. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the respondents to immediately make the necessary changes in the Mark Sheet and the Transfer Certificate of the student by correctly entering the name of the father. This process shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondents along with all the relevant documents and a copy of this order.
5. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
