Prayer : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 forbearing to give the new electricity connection in favour of the 5th respondent's alleged portion of the premises under 5th respondent's occupation in the Plot No.20 and 21, Bhavani Nagar Extension II, Sirukalathur Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District. O R D E R

Mr.S.K.Rameshwar, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent nos. 1 to 4 would submit that the writ petition in W.P.No.39160 of 2016 filed by the fifth respondent herein, for a direction to the Assistant Engineer, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Kundrathur Area (the third respondent herein) to provide electricity connection to the Plot Nos.20 & 21, Bavani Nagar Extension-2, Sirukalathur Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Chennai-600 069, was disposed by this Court on 20.03.2017 with a direction to the third respondent herein to effect service connection to the fifth respondent, and in view of the said order dated 20.03.2017, electricity service connection has been effected in the residential house of the fifth respondent herein on 26.04.2017.

2. At this juncture, this Court also finds it relevant to extract Paragraph No.5 of the order dated 20.03.2017 passed in W.P.No.39160 of 2016 :

" 5. Considering the above, this Court is inclined to allow the writ petition and accordingly, the same is allowed by directing the second respondent to effect the service connection to the petitioner pursuant to the work initiated for installation of the pole and do the needful within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. For execution of the said work, it is open to the second respondent to take the help of the local police in the event of any objection from the third respondent. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed."

3. In view of the submission of the learned Standing Counsel for respondents 1 to 4 that the electricity service connection has been effected to the residential house of the fifth respondent and recording the same, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. No costs.
