Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to dispose the representation dated 17.03.2022 within the stipulated period in accordance with the provisions of the law and relief to the petitioner.

By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The case of the petitioner in brief:

While the petitioner was working as District Manager in the respondent Corporation, he was suspended from service on 10.04.2000 on the allegation that he was involved in a criminal case and the trial Court convicted the petitioner. Thereafter, the petitioner has filed Crl.A.(MD)No.155 of 2006 before the Madurai Bench of this Court dated 20.03.2018. wherein, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner was acquitted from the above said criminal case. Therefore, he made a representation to the first respondent on various dates, viz., 08.05.2018, 08.01.2019, 01.07.2019, 14.09.2020, 15.06.2021, 24.11.2021 and 17.03.2022 to grant all the benefits as well as reinstatement into service. But, no action has been taken by the respondents. Hence, the instant writ petition.

3. Mr.M.Bindran, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents and submitted that, the representation of the petitioner will be considered by the authorities concerned on merits and in accordance with law.

4. Inview of the above submissions and also considering the limited scope of prayer, without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court is inclined to direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.03.2022 and pass orders on its own merits, in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
