ORDER

This Writ Petition is disposed of at the stage of admission after hearing the learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Senior Counsel for the Respondents.

The prayer sought for in this petition is to direct the Respondents to consider the Petitioners' representation dated 21.07.2025 for rectifying the discrepancies/errors crept in the Property Tax assessment made for the Residential-Cum-Commercial building comprised in Old Survey No.27 (part), T.S.No.5, Block No.61, Ward-F, bearing Plot No. 15, Gayathri Nagar, Hasthinapuram, Chennai-600 064, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

Learned counsel for the Respondents submitted that the Petitioners' representation dated 21.07.2025 will be considered on merits. 4.

In view of the limited prayer sought in this Writ Petition and recording the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel for the Respondents, this Writ Petition is disposed of without expressing any opinion on merits, by directing the Respondents to consider the Petitioners' representation dated 21.07.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits as

expeditiously as possible, preferably, within three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Since the issue relates to the discrepancies in the Property Tax between the Commercial and Residential categories, it is needless to state that before passing any such order, the Respondents shall issue due notice to the Petitioners and any other necessary parties.

With the above directions and observation, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
