ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2026 and consequently, to correct the petitioner's name in the EPF records from Shanthi to Ramayi, W/o.G.Subramani, link the petitioner's Aadhaar with UAN No.100698996271 of the PF Account Nos.TN/60400/ 166 and TN/63296/ 028 and to settle and disburse the provident Fund benefits to the petitioner.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself. Since no adverse order is to be passed as against the third respondent herein in this Writ Petition, notice to the third respondent is dispensed with.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner was employed as a Helper under the third respondent from 2004 to 2020 where she was referred as "Shanthi" instead of her record name "S,Ramayi" and due to lack of awareness, she did not think about the consequence of her name change, however, the said name was reflected in the EPF records. Due to the said name error, she was not able to withdraw her PF contributions, for which she submitted a joint declaration form along with her employer by producing relevant documents namely, Aadhaar, Passport and a notarized affidavit proving both names are one and the same. However, the revenue authorities informed her to get a certificate from the Tahsildar but the same was not issued no longer which was also communicated to the EPF office. She also made a representation on 27.01.2026 to the respondents in this regard, however there was inaction and hence, the present Writ Petition.
4. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2026 and to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
