ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the first respondent to return the petitioner's original driving license bearing No. TN57 20120013189, based on his representation dated 12.02.2026, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. The petitioner claims to be a driver employed in Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation. Due to the bus accident, his license has been seized by the first respondent. According to the petitioner, the act of the seizure of his drive license is illegal and premature. According to the petitioner, without the petitioner being found guilty, his driving license has been seized by the first respondent. In such circumstances, the petitioner had given a representation to the first respondent on 12.02.2026 seeking to return his original driving license. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
3. Mr.V.Meganathan, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. No prejudice will be caused to the respondents if the aforesaid representation of the petitioner is considered on merits and in accordance with law, after affording one personal hearing to the petitioner, within a time frame
to be fixed by this Court. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law, on the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2026 seeking to return his original driving license, after affording one personal hearing to him, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the aforesaid representation of the petitioner. No Costs.
