Crl.O.P.Nos.6266 & 6358 of 2024 C.V.KARTHIKEYAN, J.

The petitioners who were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 20.02.2024 for the offences registered by the respondent Police under Sections 273, 328, 511 IPC r/w 24(1) of COTP Act, in Crime No.168 of 2024, seek bail.

2.The petitioner in Crl.O.P.No.6266 of 2024 is arrayed as A1 and the petitioner in Crl.O.P.No.6358 of 2024 is arrayed as A2. 3.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners were found in illegal possession of 100 kgs of banned tobacco products. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioners stated that the total contraband was only 35 kgs.

5.But it is contended by the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) that even in the First Information Report, it had been very specifically stated that the total contraband was 100 kgs of banned tobacco products.

vkr 6.Taking that particular factor into consideration, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners.
