Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents to prepare year-wise panel from the year 2017-2018 for promotion to the post of Junior Draughting Officer (JDO) by arriving State level combine seniority in the post of Road Inspector as Single homogeneous class without reference to 1/4
the date of promotion to the post of Road Inspector Gr.I in each Division and consequently, include the names of the petitioners in the relevant panel year based on seniority and eligibility to grant promotion to the post of Junior Draughting Officer (JDO) in accordance with Special Rules for Tamilnadu Highways Subordinate Service based on the representation submitted by the petitioners dated 07.03.2024. ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to to prepare year-wise panel from the year 2017-2018 for promotion to the post of Junior Draughting Officer (JDO) by arriving State level combine seniority in the post of Road Inspector as Single homogeneous class without reference to the date of promotion to the post of Road Inspector Gr.I in each Division and consequently, include the names of the petitioners in the relevant panel year based on seniority and eligibility to grant promotion to the post of Junior Draughting Officer (JDO) in accordance with Special Rules for Tamilnadu Highways Subordinate Service based on the 2/4
representation submitted by the petitioners dated 07.03.2024.
2. As directed by this Court in W.P.No.10072 of 2022 dated 02.01.2024, seniority list has been published. However, the petitioners submitted objection for the said seniority list for various posts and the same are pending before the 2nd respondent.
3. Without going into the merits of the main writ petition, the second respondent is directed to dispose the representations submitted by the petitioners by way of objection on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
