Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Section 226 of the Constitution of India for issue of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to consider representation of the petitioners dated 18.02.2026 and to 2/7

absorb/appoint the petitioners in regular posts of Multipurpose Women Development Coordinators and/or Multipurpose Women Development Helpers on compassionate grounds, against sanctioned vacancies from the date on which they were appointed as Anganwadi Helpers on honorarium basis, with continuity of service and all attendant monetary and service benefits.

O R D E R

This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the 3rd respondent to consider representation of the petitioners dated 18.02.2026 and to absorb/appoint the petitioners in regular posts of Multipurpose Women Development Coordinators and/or Multipurpose Women Development Helpers on compassionate grounds, against sanctioned vacancies from the date on which they were appointed as Anganwadi Helpers on honorarium basis, with continuity of service and all attendant monetary and service benefits." 3/7

2. The petitioners would submit that their mothers were absorbed into a regular posts in the respondent corporation in the years 2003 and 2005 and were serving under the corporation. The petitioners would submit that upon the death of the petitioners' mothers while in service, applications for compassionate appointment were submitted by them. The case of the petitioners is that instead of granting compassionate appointment in regular posts, the petitioners were appointed only as an Anganwadi Helpers on honorarium basis, contrary to the policy and object of the compassionate appointment. Therefore, the petitioners made a representation dated 18.02.2026 to absorb / appoint them in a regular post of Multipurpose Women Development Coordinators and / or Multipurpose Women Development Helpers on compassionate grounds. However, there is no response on the side of the respondents. Therefore, the petitioners are before this Court.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that the petitioners' representation dated 18.02.2026 has not been considered to date, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the 4/7

petitioners' representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 1 month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
