PRAYER: The Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct respondent Nos.1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner from causing harm from respondent no.4.

O R D E R
The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner from causing harm from fourth respondent.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was married to the fourth respondent and out of the wedlock, they have three children. The petitioner and her children were suffered from domestic violence for years and since she was unable to bear the torture made by the fourth respondent, left the matrimonial home. The petitioner is currently living in a Shelter home, which is being run by a NGO at Anna Nagar West, Chennai. Even thereafter, the fourth respondent had harassed the petitioner, the petitioner had given a complaint to the second respondent. Based on the complaint, enquiry has been conducted in CSR No.79 of 2022. He would submit that the fourth respondent appeared for the enquiry and he had given an undertaking that he will not harass the petitioner.
Even thereafter, he is continuously harassing and threatening the petitioner with dire consequences and he also threatened the staff working in the said Shelter Home. Thereby, the present petition has been filed seeking for a police protection. 3.Mr.A.Gokulakrishnan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, enquiry has been conducted in CSR No.79 of 2022. The fourth respondent appeared for enquiry and he had given an undertaking that he will not interfere in the life of the petitioner and that the enquiry has been closed. However, if threat still persists, once again the respondents police will summon the fourth respondent and due enquiry will be conducted.
He would further submit that if necessary, case will be registered and adequate police protection will be provided to the petitioner.
4. Recording the same, this Criminal Original Petitions stands disposed of.
