This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to absorb/regularise the services of the petitioner in the District Rural Development Department with effect from the date on which the petitioner was appointed with all other consequential benefits.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is working as Grama Rozgar Sevak in the Block Development Office, Villianur, Puducherry and the petitioner was appointed on 15.06.2009 at a consolidated wages of Rs.2,000/- per month. Since from the date of appointment on 15.06.2009 and presently the petitioner is paid an amount of Rs.20,000/- per month and that he is working without any break till date. The practice followed by the Government is to regularize the service of those who are appointed under the District Rural Development Agency in the regular establishment of the Directorate of Rural Development. Hence, the petitioner is entitled to get absorbed or regularized in regular establishment on District Rural Development Department. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that similarly placed persons have been regularized in the year 2006 and they were brought under the 2/6
District Rural Development Department of Puducherry; hence similar benefit can be extended to the petitioner as well; the representation given by the petitioner is pending with the respondents so far without any consideration.
3. Since the Government was benevolent in regularizing the services of similarly placed persons and passed appropriate orders, the respondents shall consider the petitioner also for regularizing his service.
4. The petitioner shall submit a fresh representation to the respondents within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and the respondents shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of representation from the petitioner.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. 3/6
