This application has been filed by the petitioners, seeking extension of time to surrender before the learned Judge, Special Court for the Exclusive Trial of SC/ST Act Cases, Namakkal District, as ordered by this Court in the above Crl.O.P.No.26091 of 2021, dated 05.01.2022.

2. Learned Counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners were directed to surrender before the trial Court and asked to produce two sureties each. He would further submit that there are totally 30 petitioners in this case and due to Covid-19, the petitioners were unable to get 60 sureties within the period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order and thereby, the petitioners were unable to produce the sureties and surrender before the trial Court. Therefore, the present petition has been filed seeking to extend the time to surrender before the trial Court.

3. Considering the circumstances, the time granted to the petitioners to surrender before the learned Judge, Special Court for the Exclusive Trial of SC/ST Act Cases, Namakkal District, as ordered by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.26091 of 2021, dated 05.01.2022, is extended by a further period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
