[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to secure and produce the petitioner's daughter Priya, aged about 19 years, before this Court and to set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Priya, aged about 19 years, went missing from 27.02.2022 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. 3.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Manali Police Station Crime No.75 of 2022 has been registered on 02.03.2022 for 'woman missing' and during the course of investigation, it came to light that Priya has the qualities of a transgender and was frequently in touch with other transgenders.

Be that as it may, it is not the case of the petitioner that Priya is in the illegal custody of the respondents herein for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus. In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Manali Sub-Division, Chennai, to supervise the investigation in Manali Police Station Crime No.75 of 2022 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Priya, aged about 19 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai, under intimation to the petitioner.
