ORDER

The prayer made in this Criminal Original Petition is to direct the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Erode, to complete the trial in Spl.C.C. No.5/2022 as expeditiously as possible.

2. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that P.W.1 was already examined and the matter is posted today (i.e.10.06.2025) for the examination of P.W.2. There are a total of 24 witnesses to be examined in this case.

3. Considering the nature of the case and the fact that it has been pending since 2022, with 23 witnesses still remaining to be examined, this Court is of the view that the trial Court can be directed to expedite the trial and complete the same as expeditiously as possible, in any event not later than six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
