O R D E R

Assailing the final warrant notice dated 06.02.2023 issued by the 3rd respondent, the petitioner is before this Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of the property comprised in survey No.159/4, Periyar Nagar, Theeyampakkam village, Chennai-600 060. The petitioner has received a warrant notice dated 06.02.2023 from the 3rd respondent in regard to the property tax arrears amounting to Rs.1,55,380/-. Upon receipt of a said notice, the petitioner has requested the respondents to extend the time for payment of the aforesaid amount. Since there was no reply, the petitioner has come before this Court.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be permitted to pay the arrears of property tax by way of six monthly installments instead of paying in lump sum.

4. On the above contentions, this Court heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

5. Admittedly, the petitioner has not disputed the property tax arrears. He seeks only an extension of time to pay the same in installments. In the light of the limited relief, the petitioner is permitted to pay the aforesaid arrears in six equal monthly installments to be paid on or before 15th of every month. In case of any default in payment of the arrears by the petitioner, it is open for the respondents to proceed further in accordance with law.

6. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
