PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 23.04.2018 within the stipulated period fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The petitioner has filed the Writ Petition praying to issue a WRIT OF MANDAMUS, directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 23.04.2018 within the stipulated period fixed by this Court.

2.According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner has preferred an Appeal on 23.04.2018, before the first respondent challenging the proceedings dated 22.03.2018 issued by the second respondent for cancellation of the Driving Licence of the petitioner. The said appeal is still pending and no order has been passed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the prayer sought for by the petitioner shall be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

4.By considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Advocate, without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court is inclined to direct the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 23.04.2018, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing opportunity to the petitioner. 5.With the above observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
