ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to produce the body of the petitioner's son viz., V.Gowtham, S/o.A.Venkatesan, aged about 30 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that his son Gowtham, aged about 30 years, went missing in the year 2015 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure him. 3.Today, K.Mohan, Police Constable 57601, Kumaran Nagar Police Station, Chennai, is present.

4.On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Kumaran Nagar Police Station Crime No.2345 of 2015 was registered on 27.07.2015 for 'man missing' and the police have been taking effective steps to trace the whereabouts of the petitioner's son Gowtham.

5.Be that as it may, it is not the case of the petitioner that his son Gowtham is in the illegal custody of the respondents herein for the issuance of a writ of habeas corpus. Hence, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
