Respondents The writ petition is filed to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.6.2014 with regard to the appointment of the petitioner under priority category for having given 0.75 acres of land in Award No.14/1985, dated 24.12.1985 under Land Acquisition Act, 1894, in the light of registration in the Professional and Executive and Employment Exchange, Chennai-28 (Reg.No.CHP 2008 M00000188, dated 4.1.2008).

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, as well as the learned counsels, appearing on behalf of the respondents.

2.This writ petition has been filed, praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.6.2014, with regard

to the appointment of the petitioner under the priority category, for having given 0.75 acres of land, comprised in S.No.61/2, in the Award passed, in Award No.14/1985, dated 24.12.1985, under Land Acquisition Act, 1894, in the light of the registration, in the Professional and Executive and Employment Exchange, Chennai-28 (Reg.No.CHP 2008 M00000188, dated 4.1.2008).

3.Though various grounds have been raised in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, the learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that it would suffice, if the first and the second respondents are directed to dispose of the representation, dated 11.6.2014, on merits and in accordance with law, within the time frame, as may be fixed by this Court.

In view of the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and in view of the submissions made by the learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, this Court finds it appropriate to direct the first and the second respondents to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.06.2014, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, as well as to the other persons concerned, if any. The petitioner shall furnish a copy of the representation, dated 11.06.2014, to the first and the second respondents, along with a copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter, by passing this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of, with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, connected M.P. is closed.
