ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking quash the proceedings against the petitioner in S.C.No.189 of 2012 pending on the file of the Sub-Court, Alandur.

2. The only ground taken by the petitioner is that, from the year 2012 onwards, there is no progress in the Sessions Case despite the appearance of the petitioner.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police submitted that recently the case has been transferred to Sub Court, Alandur.

4. In such view of the matter, the learned Magistrate, Sub Court, Alandur is directed to expedite the trial and dispose of the matter without any further delay.

5. Considering the fact that the petitioner has been regularly appearing before the trial Court, the presence of the petitioner shall be dispensed with before the trial Court except for receiving the copies, initial questioning, questioning under Section 313 of Cr.P.C and any other date fixed by the trial Court and at the time of passing judgment. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

6. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
