This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to disburse the caution library deposit amount of the batch of 2017-2020 LLB (Hons) School of Excellence in pursuance to petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2024.
2. The petitioner is a alumnus of the respondent institution. The petitioner states that there was a reasonable demand on behalf of the students of the batch 2017-2020 LLB (Hons) School of Excellence, for refund of the caution library deposit amount of Rs.3,000/- deposited by the students at the time of admission. Although the respondents informed that the caution deposit was a refundable and would be returned upon completion of necessary formalities, they failed to do so until the present date. Consequently the petitioner and his batch mates had not received the refund. As a result, all the students sent a communication via e-mail 2/5
on 23.01.2023, to the respondent institution. Thereafter the petitioner also sent a representation on 27.12.2024, to the respondents. Since there was no response, the petitioner filed the present writ petition.

Though very many grounds have been raised in this Writ Petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2024 on merits and pass orders within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader did not oppose the said submission of the petitioner.
5. Heard the learned counsel on both sides and perused the materials available on record.
6. Taking into consideration the factual aspects of the matter, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the second 3/5
respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2024 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above observation and direction. No costs.
