ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by V.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the detenue - Monika, aged 19 years, before this Court and to set her at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Monika, aged about 19 years, went missing from 08.03.2020 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. 3.Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in R.K.Nagar Police Station Crime No.164 of 2020 has been registered on 08.03.2020 for 'woman missing' and investigation is in progress. 4.Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Washermenpet, Chennai, to monitor the investigation in R.K.Nagar Police Station Crime No.164 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she shall be produced before the XV Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town, Chennai, under intimation to the petitioner.
