O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to receive, register and release the Settlement Deed dated 24.03.2022 executed by the petitioner in favour his brother in TP/114873802/2022 in respect of Gramanatham Old S.No.213/1 part in Joint Patta 361, New S.No.777/13-615 Sq.Mtrs totalling 2206.62 Sq.ft out of 6619 Sq.Ft at Gerugambakkam Village, Kundrathur Taluk, Kanchipuram District, Pammal Sub Registration District, South Chennai Registration District, to the petitioner forthwith.

2. The learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the official respondents. In view of the limited relief sought for in this petition and on the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, this petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is in possession of Gramanatham Old S.No.213/1 part in Joint Patta 361, New S.No.777/13-615 Sq.Mtrs totalling 2206.62 Sq.ft out of 6619 Sq.Ft at Gerugambakkam Village, Kundrathur Taluk, Kanchipuram District. The petitioner executed a Settlement Deed in favour of her brother on 24.03.2022 and the same was presented for registration before the respondent. However, the respondent did not entertained the document. Hence, this Writ Petition is filed with the aforesaid prayer.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if this Court issue direction to the respondent to receive and register the document, within a reasonable time that may be fixed by this Court.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the official respondent submitted that the respondent will register the document presented by the petitioner, if it is otherwise in order, within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

6. This Court, without going into the merits of the case, issue direction to the respondent to receive and register the document on merits and in accordance with law, if it is otherwise in order, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
