O R D E R

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded on 05.02.2020 for the offence punishable under Sections 341, 294(b), 397, 336 and 506(ii)

IPC in Crime No.25 of 2020, seeks bail.

2. Heard both sides.

3.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused waylaid the defacto complainant, abused him in filthy language and robbed a sum of Rs.1,200/- by brandishing knife and also threatened him with dire consequences. Hence, a case has been registered against the petitioner.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. Therefore, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner.

5.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner is a habitual offender and is having 14 previous cases pending against him. Hence, he vehemently opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

6.In view of the fact that the petitioner is a habitual offender who is having 14 previous cases against him, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
