ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 6(4)of TNSC (RDCS) Order 1982, r/w.7(i)a(ii) of EC Act, 1955 in Crime No.301 of 2019, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. It is the case of the prosecution that the petitioner is found in possession of 1,100 Kgs of PDS Rice, meant for public distribution. Hence the complaint.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner hidden 1,100 kgs of PDS rice in the backyard of the petitioner's house and the same was seized. Hence, he vehemently opposed for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
5.Taking note of the facts and circumstances and the quantity of the PDS rice possessed by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Hence this petition is dismissed.
