O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the impugned notice dated 16.11.2022 letter No.1276/CBCID/OW/2022 issued by the 4th respondent and quash the same and consequently direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to de-freeze the bank accounts of the petitioner in A/c. No.901177577 (West Mambalam Branch) Indian Bank and A/c.No.32828903299 (Porur Branch) State Bank of India.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner brought to the notice of this Court that based on the First Information Report registered in Crime No.33 of 2022, the bank accounts of the petitioner was frozen. The said First Information Report itself has now been quashed by this Court by order dated 19.10.2024 in Crl.O.P.No.28547 2/5

of 2022 and therefore, the petition has become infructuous. The same has been admitted by the learned Public Prosecutor (Pondy) appearing for the State.

According to the petitioner, two FIRs were registered against the petitioner's husband in Crime Nos.33 of 2022 and 34 of 2022 and based on the FIR in Crime No.33 of 2022, the impugned letter dated 16.11.2022 has been issued to the Bank to freeze the accounts of the petitioner. Now both the FIRs have been quashed by this Court and pursuant to the same, the authorities concerned have de-freezed the bank accounts of the petitioner.

4. In such view of the matter, nothing survives for adjudication in this petition. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
