ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.01.2021.

2. Heard Mr.D.A.Sugumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.P.Murugan Rajan, learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 to 3.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had applied for the post of Village Assistant under the reservation for SC/ST category. The petitioner has been called for interview on 31.10.2016. Though the petitioner came out successful in the interview, appointment order was not given to him. According to him, the petitioner is an eligible candidate. However, the respondents 1 to 3 have appointed the fourth respondent who is not eligible to the said post. The petitioner has given a representation in the year 2021 seeking certain information as to the appointment. But, no action is forthcoming so far. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer. Page No.2 of 4

4. Had the respondents considered the representation of the petitioner and passed orders, it would have been possible for the petitioner to challenge the order, if he is aggrieved. Since the respondents did not give the information sought by the petitioner and the representation of the petitioner was also not considered, I feel it is appropriate to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the representation of the petitioner within a period of four weeks.

5. In the result, this Writ Petition is disposed and the respondents 1 to 3 are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.01.2021 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
