O R D E R
This criminal revision is filed against the order in M.C.No.217 of 2011 on the file of the learned III Additional Family Judge, Chennai, dated 23.4.2013 whereby the petitioner was directed to pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- per month as maintenance amount to the respondents.
2. The only point which has been raised by the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner has lost his job and he is struggling to make both ends meet. However, he is prepared to pay some reasonable maintenance amount. Hence, he prays that the amount may be reduced.
3. The learned counsel for the respondents submitted that the wife is a physically challenged lady and her monthly medical requirement alone comes to Rs.4000/-. The father of the respondent is a retired person and he has other daughters to take care of.
4. Taking into consideration the pitiable condition of both sides, this Court reduces the monthly maintenance awarded from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.9,000/- p.m. It is submitted that as per the orders of this Court, a sum of Rs.1,77,500/- was paid. Arrears of maintenance amount, if any, shall be paid at the rate of Rs.9,000/- p.m., within a period of eight weeks. The petitioner shall continue to pay a sum of Rs.9,000/- on or before 5th of every succeeding month https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
