Prayer: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to summon the respondent and punish them for willfully violating the order of this Court in W.P.No.18446 of 2017 dated 20.07.2017.

Petitioner is called absent even today.

2.This Court has, on 24.06.2022 has passed the following order: 'The petitioner shall produce the original refund vouchers before the Executive Engineer and Administrative Officer, Nandanam Division, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, 493, Anna Salai, Nandanam, Chennai-600 035 (2nd respondent in W.P.No.18446 of 2017) and get back the amount available with the respondents.

2.Mr.D.Veerasekaran, learned Standing Counsel, appearing for the respondents, submitted that, in the event of the petitioner handing over the original EMD, vouchers and Security Deposit Receipts before the 2nd respondent in W.P.No.18446 of 2017 within a week's time, the respondents would refund the amount available with the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, within two weeks thereafter.

3.The matter is adjourned to 15.07.2022.'

3.This Court has, on 26.08.2022, recorded the request of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner would approach the Executive Engineer and Administrative Officer, Nandanam Division, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Chennai and hand over the necessary documents for obtaining refund as claimed.

4.The petitioner was called absent on the subsequent hearings on 12.12.2022 and 19.12.2022. Today a copy of communication dated 14.07.2022 is brought to my attention wherein the Executive Engineer and Administrative Officer, Nandanam Division, has conveyed that there has been no response

from the petitioner pursuant to the submission made before this Court on 24.06.2022 and 26.08.2022. The petitioner thus, does not appear to be interested in pursuing the matter further.

5.In light of the narration as aforesaid, I see no reason to keep this contempt petition pending any longer and the same is closed.
