PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to issue patta in respect of the property in S.No.438, Ward-E, Block-91, Virudhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District, measuring an extent of 2.92 Acres in favour of Gori Mariam Wakf (Five Gori Thaikka Wakf) as sought vide representation lastly dated 21.01.2026 and pass such further or other orders. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to issue Patta, in the name of the petitioner for the property more fully disclosed in the prayer to this Writ Petition, based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.01.2026.

2. The petitioner claims to be the hereditary muthavalli of Gori Mariam Wakf. On behalf of the said Wakf, the petitioner seeks for grant of Patta for the subject property, in favour of the Wakf. The petitioner has also impleaded the Tamil Nadu Wakf Board as party respondent in this Writ Petition.

3. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the 5th respondent is only a formal party. The petitioner has filed the supporting documents along

with this Writ Petition, in support of the petitioner's application seeking for grant of Patta, in favour of the subject Wakf.

4. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation dated 21.01.2026 seeking for grant of Patta in the name of Gori Mariam Wakf is considered on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing all the necessary parties, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the 3rd respondent, to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, on the petitioner's representation dated 21.01.2026 seeking for grant of Patta for the property more fully disclosed in the prayer of this Writ Petition, viz., in the name of Gori Mariam Wakf, after hearing all the necessary parties, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
