ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by R. MAHADEVAN, J.) The prayer made in this writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to enroll the petitioner as an Advocate in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, by considering his representation dated 10.02.2023.
2.According to the petitioner, she has completed law degree and made on-line application on 24.08.2022 seeking to enroll her as an Advocate, before the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, enclosing the relevant certificates and undertaking affidavits. However, her name was not published in the list of candidates for enrolment and on enquiry, she came to know that her application was withheld by the respondents, citing pendency of a criminal case in Crime No.195/2018 registered against her. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 10.02.2023 requesting to process her on-line application seeking enrolment, which was not considered till date. Therefore, the petitioner is before this court with the present writ petition. 2/4
3.Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondents authorities have already passed an order on 06.03.2023, rejecting the representation of the petitioner.
4.In reply, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the order rejecting the petitioner's representation has not been served on her, till date and hence, the same may be directed to be served on the petitioner. The learned counsel further submitted that the petitioner may be granted liberty to approach the authorities concerned and proceed further in the manner known to law.
5.In view of the above submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the respondent authorities are directed to serve a copy of the order to the petitioner immediately, if not served earlier; and that, the petitioner is granted liberty to proceed further in accordance with law. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
