Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the representation given by the petitioner on 30/7/2014, 11/8/2014 to initiate disqualification proceedings against the Panchayat Union Chairman.

With the consent of the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. Heard Mr.D.Rajagopal, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

3. This writ petition has been filed, praying to direct the respondents to consider the representations given by the petitioner on 30/7/2014, 11/8/2014, to initiate disqualification proceedings against the Panchayat Union Chairman, who has been impleaded as the third respondent.

4. Though the third respondent has entered appearance through their counsel, none appears for the third respondent, even though the matter was passed over.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first and second respondents submitted that since the first respondent has to consider the representation, sufficient time should be granted to the first respondent to consider the same.

6. In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the case, there will be a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 30/7/2014 and 11/8/2014, on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as to the second respondent, within a period of four months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
