Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the petitioner's daughter namely Saikeerthana, D/o.Chinnasamy, aged about 22 years or her body before this Court and set her at liberty forthwith.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH,J.) The petitioner's daughter, Saikeerthana, aged about 22 years, went missing from her house on 01.03.2024. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the second respondent police on 02.03.2024. However, no action has been taken till date. In this background, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

3.Pursuant to the complaint, it is stated by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that the petitioner's daughter along with her parents had appeared before the police and had given a statement that she had already married a person of her choice.

4.Taking into account that the petitioner's daughter is a major and has taken a conscious decision of marrying a person of her own choice, the present Habeas Corpus Petition seeking for setting her at liberty does not require consideration.
