PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pay interest amount to the petitioner for the belatedly paid Provident Fund, Gratuity and Commutation of Pension amount at the rate of 6% per annum for 12 months of delayed payment in the light of the judgment passed by this Court on 23.10.2024 in W.P.No.30766 of 2024. O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus, seeking a direction against the respondents to pay interest for the belated payment of provident fund, gratuity and commutation of pension. The petitioner had given a representation on 14.02.2025. 2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it is stated that the petitioner joined the respondent Transport Corporation on 01.08.1986 and retired from service upon attaining the age of superannuation on 31.05.2022. According to the petitioner, the terminal benefits were disbursed with a delay and he now seeks interest for the 2/4

delayed period.

3.A direction is therefore issued to the respondents to examine the petitioner's Service Register and verify the date when the amount was disbursed. If it is found that the amount was disbursed with delay, interest at the rate of 6% per annum shall be granted from the date of retirement until the actual date of disbursement. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
