O R D E R

This writ petition is filed seeking for a Mandamus, directing the respondents to renew the double barrel gun license of the petitioner with Registration No.4327/2007 in respect of the gun license No.231/DMU/Army.

2. Heard both sides.

3. It is stated that the petitioner was in army service for about 24 years and retired. It is further stated that he was https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

granted with gun license which need to be renewed through the District Authority after the retirement. Therefore, the petitioner made an application for renewal before the 2nd respondent dated 13.09.2008.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said application is not being considered by the 2nd respondent so far.

5. Considering the above stated facts and circumstances and as it is stated that the petitioner's application for grievance is still pending before the 2nd respondent, this Court, without expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directed the 2nd respondent to consider the application filed by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
