ORDER

The petitioner has approached this Court seeking the following relief:

''To issue a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to upgrade the petitioner as Special SubInspector of Police on par with his batchmates who have been promoted as Special Sub-Inspectors in CPO No.2094/2010 in C.No.A2 591/2010 dated 31.12.2010 and grant him all consequential service and monetary benefits''.

2. In respect of the relief sought for by the petitioner, he seems to have submitted a representation dated 25.07.2011, to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the respondents. According to the petitioner, the said representation has not been disposed of till date, therefore, the learned counsel for the petitioner would confine his relief only for a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner said to have been made on 25.07.2011.

3.Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents and filed a detailed counter affidavit and submitted that the petitioner is not entitled to the benefit. However, in view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, the learned Additional Government Pleader has no objection in granting the relief as prayed for by him.

4. Therefore, in the fitness of things, this Court directs the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 25.07.2011 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
