ORDER

This petition has been filed challenging the order issued by the 3rd respondent in Ka.No. Vu.Po/ E and Pa/ Kaarambakkam / Ko.Pu.Manu/ No. 243/

2026 dated 13.01.2026, quash the same and direct the 3rd respondent to give the electricity connection to the petitioners portion as per the petitioners representation dated 09.01.2026.

It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner made an application for electricity connection for her portion, however, the same was rejected and the amount was refunded online and subsequently, the petitioner made a representation 09.01.2026 for effecting service connection, however, the impugned order was passed on the ground that the petitioner has not produced necessary NOC from the other co-pattadhars. Challenging the same, the present writ petition.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that patta was issued in the name of the different family members, the petitioner is is occupation of one portion, in which, she is entitled to get electricity service connection as per Electricity Supply Code. Hence, in this regard, she submitted that she is ready to execute necessary indemnity bond.

4. Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the cases, this Court directs the petitioner to make a fresh application for electricity connection, within a

period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, on receipt of the application, the respondents are directed to consider the application submitted by the petitioner on 12.06.2020 and process the same and collect necessary indemnity bond and the necessary fees from the petitioner and proceed to provide electricity supply to the petitioner within a period of four weeks thereafter.

6. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed. 09-03-2026 dhk Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes
