ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a limited prayer for issuance of mandamus or direction to dispose of the pending revision filed by the petitioner against the order passed by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Ambattur Taluk.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner also stated that it has been wrongly mentioned as appeal in the prayer portion, as, against the order passed by the Revenue Divisional Officer, only revision will lie, as per Section 13 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1986. Since the District Revenue Officer being the competent revisional authority to consider the correctness of the order passed by the Revenue Divisional Officer, the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner has filed the revision and the same is also pending without getting it disposed of. Therefore, he has been advised to come to this Court.

3. The learned Government Advocate for the respondents sought eight weeks time to consider the petitioner's revision petition.

4. This Court, considering the limited prayer, without going to the merits of the matter, hereby directs the District Revenue Officer, Tiruvallur, the first respondent herein to consider the pending revision petition filed under Section 13 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1986 on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
