The petitioner has come forward with this petition to direct the respondents to extend necessary protection by taking cognizance of the complaint lodged with them on 19.06.2015 and to take action against the persons, who are responsible for the said situation. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents and perused the materials placed on record.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that her father is forcing her to get married to one Manickam and the petitioner does not want to marry him. Therefore, she is living in her uncle's house. Earlier, the petitioner made a complaint for the same allegation and the police called the petitioner's father, who https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
appeared before the police and gave a statement that he will not compel his daughter to marry Manickam. On the basis of the statement given by the petitioner's father, the earlier complaint was closed.
4. Now, the present complaint containing the same allegation has been sent by post to various Authorities by the petitioner on 19.06.2015. The petitioner has a fundamental Right under Article 21 of the Constitution of India to chalk out her own life and that she cannot be compelled by any one including her parents to marry a person of their choice. If the problem persists, liberty is given to the petitioner to appear in person before the Inspector of Police, Elavansoorkottai Police Station, Elavanasoorkottai, Ulundurpet, Villupuram District with a fresh complaint and on such complaint being made, the police is directed to afford necessary protection to the petitioner and see that she is not compelled to undergo any forced marriage.
