ORDER

This application is filed by the learned Administrator General and Official Trustee of Tamil Nadu (hereinafter "AG & OT" for brevity) to permit them to donate a sum of Rs.2,66,550/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Sixty Six Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty only) to Head Mistress, Lady Wellingdon Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Triplicane, Chennai, for providing Lunch to Class XI and XII Students and Breakfast and Brunch to Class X to XII Students, who are 200 in total, and also to permit them to meet the said expenses from and out of the accumulated fund of Madras Ordinance Pensioned Lascars Charities that relates to 2019-2020. 2.

In the report submitted in support of the application, it is stated that the Trust Estate of Madras Ordinance Pensioned Lascars Charities comes under the administration of Administrator General and Official Trustee of Tamil Nadu as per the Scheme Decree in C.S.No.177 of 1939. Out of the income generated from the Trust Estate, various charitable work are done as per the wishes and intentions of the Testator through orders of this Court. The learned AG & OT has received several representation for donation. One of such representation is received from Lady Wellingdon Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Triplicane, Chennai.

students who are studying in 10th, 11th and 12th Std., and who would be appearing for public examinations in April, 2025, are attending Special Classes. The School Management has requested the learned AG & OT to give monetary assistance to the tune of Rs.7,70,250/- for providing Breakfast and Brunch to students who are studying in 10th, 11th and 12th Std., and for providing Lunch to students who are studying in 11th and 12th Std., till they complete their public examinations in April, 2025. It is stated that the performance of the students will be marginally increased if this facility is provided to the students.

3.The object of the Trust is visible from the Scheme Decree. This Court is fully convinced that the students are from poor families with a humble background. This Court finds that the donation proposed will be in accordance with the objectives sought to be achieved by the Scheme. Even though a sum of Rs.7,70,250/- is requested by the School Management, since it is stated that the entire expenses had been met by the School administration for the months of January and February, 2025, the learned AG & OT have restricted their claim to a sum of Rs.2,66,550/- that may be required by the School Management to continue the facility from this date till public examinations are over.

4.Accordingly, this application is ordered and the learned AG & OT is permitted to donate a sum of Rs.2,66,550/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Sixty Six Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty only) to Head Mistress, Lady Wellingdon Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Triplicane, Chennai, for providing Lunch to Class XI and XII Students and Breakfast and Brunch to Class X to XII Students, who are 200 in total, and also to permit them to meet the said expenses from and out of the accumulated fund of Madras Ordinance Pensioned Lascars Charities that relates to 2019-2020. 05-03-2025 MKN
