ORDER

The petitioner herein was admitted in the 4th respondent's Law College in the academic year 2006-2007 and for the reasons known to him, he discontinued the studies. After a period of 7 years, he made a request for rejoining the Law Course. The representation of the petitioner dated 09.06.2014 was not disposed of. The 2nd respondent routed it through the 4th respondent. However, seeking a direction to respondents to readmit him in the 5 years Law Course to continue his studies with the 4th respondent Law College, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that as the petitioner was duly admitted, he is entitled to continue his studies.

3. Mr.S.Pattabiraman, learned Government Advocate appearing for the 4th respondent submitted that as per the decision of the Syndicate, the petitioner cannot continue after a lapse of 5 years. The learned counsel also produced the minutes of the meeting of the U.G.Board of Studies held on 18.11.2013, which is extracted hereunder:- "To consider the enhancement of fee for readmission and transfer of students in the affiliated Government Law Colleges:

The Board resolved to recommend to the Syndicate to enhance the re-admission fee from Rs.1,000/- as mentioned below:- One year Break - Rs.2,000/- Two years Break - Rs.3,000/- Three years Break - Rs.4,000/- Four years Break - Rs.5,000/- Five year Break - Rs.6,000/- The Board resolved that no candidate shall be admitted after the lapse of 5 years."

4. An academic decision is to be left to the authorities concerned. This court has little role to play. Admittedly, the petitioner has not made any attempt to redo the course for 7 years. Wisdom has dawn on him after he reached the age of 35 years. The resolution of the Syndicate stand against him. Thus, the court is unable to extend its helping hand. Hence, the writ petition fails and the same is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
