The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that though this Court has directed the disposal of the appeal within a stipulated time frame, it has not been done so and the proceedings of the Revenue Divisional Officer dated 07.10.2016 has not been communicated to the petitioner and prays for appropriate orders.

Per contra, Mr.N.Sakthivel, learned Government Advocate would submit that the Revenue Divisional Officer, Erode, vide proceedings in Na.Ka.4049/2015/A4 dated 07.10.2016, has disposed of the matter, confirming the order passed by the Revenue Tahsildar and also granted liberty to file appeal within 15 days before the Appellate Authority, namely District Revenue Officer, Erode and though the said communication was sent to the petitioner by Registered Post, the postal cover returned with an endorsement "not claimed" and also produced a xerox copy of the said postal return cover and it is taken on file and recorded.
3. In the light of said development, this Contempt Petition is closed. The petitioner, if so advised, is at liberty to file an appeal challenging the order of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Erode in Na.Ka.4049/2015/A4 dated 07.10.2016 before the District Revenue Officer, Erode within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and upon receipt of the same, the said official shall entertain the appeal, if the papers are otherwise in order, without putting the issue of limitation and after putting on notice the persons concerned, shall dispose of the appeal on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and not later than eight weeks from the date of entertainment of the said appeal.
