This contempt petition is filed alleging willful disobedience of the order dated 17.06.2022 made in W.P.No.14179 of 2016. 1/3

2.Since compensation was not paid for the taking over of the surplus land under the Tamil Nadu Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, the writ petition in W.P.No.14179 of 2016 was filed before this Court. This Court vide order dated 17.06.2022 made in W.P.No.14179 of 2016, issued direction to the respondents therein to pay the compensation with eligible interest, pursuant to which, the State Government has issued letter dated 25.02.2025 assessing the value of the excess vacant land acquired as Rs.1,73,328/-. 3.In view of the above, this Contempt Petition is closed. The respondent is directed to pay the amount within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to work out the remedy in the manner known to law, if so aggrieved by the compensation.
