ORDER

The prayer sought for in the writ petition is to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.12.2021 and pass orders. 1/4

2. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner was appointed as Fire Operator in the year 1986 and subsequently promoted to the post of Superintendent (Fire service) on 04.10.2007 by fixing of pay at Rs. 12,280 + 6140 DP and retired from service on 31.08.2016. The petitioner has made representation on 15.12.2021 to the respondent for rectification for fixation of basic pay from Rs.12,280/- to Rs.12,570/- on par with his juniors. The said representation is still pending on the file of the respondent, hence the present writ petition seeking directions to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders.

4. The learned Counsel appearing for the respondent has submitted that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered by the respondent and appropriate orders will be passed in accordance with law and within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

5. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondent and considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for 2/4

by the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.12.2021 made by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
