Respondent Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the representation dated 10.04.2018 and pass orders by granting patta for an extent of 7 1⁄4 cents in S.No.314/1 of Malai Nagar, Aharapakkam Village, Maduranthakam Taluk, Kancheepuram District.

ORDER
The petitioner claims to be the owner of the land covered in Survey No.314/1 having an extent of 7 1⁄4 cents situated at Malai Nagar, Acharapakkam Village, Maduranthakam Taluk, Kancheepuram District after having purchased the same on 25.12.2012 from one Mrs.C.Jayakumari. Since then, the petitioner has been in possession and enjoyment of the property by paying property tax with the authorities. As he is also entitled to have patta for the property in his occupation, a representation has been made on 10.4.2018 to the respondent requesting to grant patta. But till date, the same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has been advised to come to this Court seeking a mandamus to the respondent to consider his representation dated 10.4.2018 along with the requisite documents for issuance of patta.
2. The learned Government Advocate, taking notice on behalf of the respondent, sought sufficient time to consider the request of the petitioner.

This Court, considering the limited prayer, without going into the merits of the matter, hereby directs the respondent to consider the pending representation of the petitioner for issuance of patta on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
