3.P.Suresh ..Respondents Prayer:- This Habeas Corpus Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to produce the body and person of the detenue namely Ms.R.Chitra, aged about 24 years, daughter of the petitioner herein, who has been illegally detained under the custody of 3rd respondent herein before this Court and set her at liberty.

O R D E R

This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed father of the detenue to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to secure his daughter, R.Chitra, aged about 24 years, and to produce the body of the detenue before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. According to the petitioner, the detenue, R.Chitra, is studying in First Year, B.A., Tamil Literature in Annamalai University and she left the home on 30.10.2014 stating that she was going to College but she did not return back. When they contacted her through cell phone, it was switched off. Later, they came to know that she had been taken away by the 3rd respondent herein. Hence, they are constrained to file this Habeas Corpus Petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The detenue was produced before us by the police. When we enquired her, she had stated that she got married with the third respondent namely, Suresh and the marriage was solemnised at Devamaha Mariyamman Koil, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, Thanjavur District and the same was registered and she also produced the original Certificate of Registration of Marriage.

4. Even according to the petitioner, the detenue is 24 years old. Considering that the detenue is a major, we find it appropriate to permit her to go as per her wish.

5. With the above said observations, the Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
