The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order, 1982, r/w Section 7(1)a(ii) of E.C Act, 1958, in Crime No.242 of 2024, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner had illegally transported 7,400kgs of PDS Rice and he has been arrayed as the fourth accused.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the allegations are false; and that in any case, custodial interrogation is not required and sought for anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) reiterated the prosecution case and has also filed a counter-affidavit stating that the petitioner has seven previous cases of similar nature; and that the first bail application in Crl.OP.No.31063 of 2024 was withdrawn before Hon'ble Page No.2 of 5

5. Considering the aforesaid facts; and that the petitioner has seven previous cases of similar nature, this court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
