ORDER

This Contempt Petition is filed alleging noncompliance of the order of this Court, dated 15.03.2016 made in W.P.No.9550 of 2016, wherein, this Court, while disposing of the said Writ Petition, passed the following order:

"4.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, and considering the submissions made on either side, without going to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the first respondent to expedite the enquiry of the appeal in Na.Ka.A3/6611/15, dated 23.1.2016 and dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law, by affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as to the third respondent and other necessary parties, if any, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim of the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs."

Today, when the Contempt Petition is taken up for consideration, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, has filed a compliance report of the respondent, in which it is stated that the respondent called for enquiry, in which the writ petitioner and the third respondent in the Writ Petition were enquired in person on 27.01.2016 and obtained related records; that due to heavy flood, most of the villages in Cuddalore District were affected and flood relief measures have been taken in the months of February and March 2016 and due to the General Elections to Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, orders could not be passed immediately after the enquiry. It is further stated that orders were passed by the respondent in Reference No.A3/6611/2016 and that the order of this Court has been duly complied with by the respondent.

3. Since the above said order of this Court had now been complied with, nothing survives for consideration in this Contempt Petition, which is accordingly closed.
