O R D E R
The Writ Petition has been filed for directing the respondents 1 to 3 to give sufficient police protection to the petitioner.
2. It is the submission of learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner is the Director of Sri.Vagai Chits Private Limited. During the course of chit transaction, petitioner had taken steps for enforcing the nonpayment of dues from the chit subscribers. Now they are threatening the petitioner, necessitating filing of this petition.
3. In response, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that, petitioner gave a representation to the Commissioner of Police stating that, several subscribers are threatening him and therefore, he sought for police protection. On the basis of his representation, petitioner enquiry is pending in Current Paper Enquiry No.41 of 2023. It is reported by learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) that petitioner is not cooperating with the enquiry.
4. In such circumstances stated by learned counsel for the parties, (i) This Court directs respondent police to complete the petition enquiry, as expeditiously as possible and pass appropriate orders with regard to the claim of police protection in the manner known to law. (ii) Petitioner is directed to co-operate with the enquiry, otherwise he cannot expect the respondents to provide police protection.
5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
