This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to call for the records pending on the file of the Inspector of Police, Deputy Crime Branch, Krishnagiri District in Crime No.9 of 2018 and to quash the same.

The petitioner is arrayed as A2 in Crime No.9 of 2018 for the offences punishable under Sections 406 and 420 of IPC. The contention of the petitioner is that the period of occurrence is from 07.09.2015 to 30.11.2017. The other accused persons are the family members. A1 is the mother of the petitioner herein and other accused persons are family members. The contention of the petitioner is that she had pursued her studies and got degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Erode, and the same was completed with first class during the year 2016. 4.
In the meanwhile, the petitioner got married on 19.06.2013 and living with her husband separately. She had also birth given to a child on 06.05.2015. Thereafter, she had come to Chennai to study for competitive examination (UPSC) and also to IAS preparation. However, she did not stay permanently in Krishnagiri District, where the petitioner's mother is running unregistered Chit. Thereafter, the mother and daughter had not proceeded in the Chit activities, however, the entire family members were arrayed an accused.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that it is clearly mentioned in the FIR that the entire family members participated in conducting the Chit activities. According to the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, investigation is pending. The involvement of the petitioner will depend on the outcome of the investigation. If it is disclosed that the petitioner did involve in the alleged offence, then the submission of the petitioner will be considered by the respondent police.

In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of and the respondent Police is directed to proceed further with the investigation in accordance with law and complete the investigation and file a final report or a closure report, as the case may be, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
