Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents and their subordinates from interfering with the day to day affairs and rights of the petitioner's society including the playing of rummy (13 cards) and other recreational activities without any reasonable cause at the premises at D.No.1-12-012 Mettacur Road, Yanam, Puducherry and 1-16-098 Draksharama Road, Mettacur Road, Yanam.

ORDER
The Writ Petition is filed seeking for a direction, directing the respondents and their subordinates from interfering with the day to day affairs and rights of the petitioner's society including the playing of rummy (13 cards) and other recreational activities without any reasonable cause at the premises at D.No.1-12-012 Mettacur Road, Yanam, Puducherry and 1-16-098 Draksharama Road, Mettacur Road, Yanam.
2.It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner's Society is a newly formed Society and they are only involving in recreational activities for their members and that the respondent police are interfering with their regular activities frequently, accordingly seeks for a direction of this Court to direct the respondent police to not to interfere with their day to day affairs and rights. 3.This Court is of the view that such a blanket direction cannot be issued. If the Society is running only recreational activities without any offence, the police have no business to interfere with their routine affairs, at the same time, if the police receives any information with regard to any illegal activities, they have all the rights to proceed against the Society as per law.
4.With the above observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
